| I am a traditional drummer from Guinea, West Africa. I have taught and performed in Japan, North America and across Europe. I feature on 8 CDs, and have performed at many large festivals including WOMAD, MELA, Sunderland International Kite Festival and other world music festivals.
I am based in the UK and run weekly classes in Malinke rhythms and songs, weekend workshops, train performance groups, 1:1 tuition, teach youth groups and perform throughout the UK. In 2008 & 2009 I toured Japan, and each winter I return to Guinea to teach international students in my homeland. I am founder, artistic director and lead soloist for my groups 'Sodeya' and 'Nansady Keita Ensemble' who play traditional rhythms of the Malinke people of Guinea. I am available as a musician, teacher, facilitator, performer. I feel it is extremely important to promote the musical culture of my home country Guinea, to share this with others, and for them to share their culture with me.
