Hello.
Thanks for using the Intercultural Arts artist and cultural professionals section. I am A.N. Example, and I am here to show you what YOUR profile can look like. This box is where you can put information about yourself, such as the art form you work with, or the organisation you work for. You can update it as often as you like. |

Hi. I am an artist who works across a variety of disciplines: I am a poet and writer (primarily) and use performance art and theatre to illuminate what I write.
I was a founder member/writer of the nomadic, independent multi-culural theatre group "Spirit Sisters" when I lived in London. I am a songwriter/composer: some of my lyrics are formed within a bedrock of sound. I was for years a member of a choir in Minneapolis which specialised in sacred songs from many spiritual traditions around the world. I also develop images as paintings, sculpture and mask-making as well as "artwear" and jewellery. I am a puppeteer and a clown (traditional/indigenous). My masks and puppets (all life-size) have been used in productions all over the midwest (USA), principally during a residency at the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, Minneapolis, MN. Lastly, but by no means least, I am a storyteller from an ancient west african tradition - rhythm and words have been embedded in my DNA for what feels like millenia... I currently work as a creative coach/consultant. I have worked with young people to support them in devising and performing full-length theatrical productions - in that respect I have been director/producer/wardrobe/driver and big sister. I also work with vulnerable adults using the same tools - theatre, writing, performing arts - to explore creativity and create something useful. Afidi Ngwe Nomo-OngoloCreate your badge |

Dancing music for discerning adults, the FUNKY BUTT is all about enjoying the best in vintage rhythm and blues, latin jazz, soul, ska, bluebeat and funk.
We've provided a great atmosphere at the biggest festivals in the North East, including the Sage Americana Festival and Evolution, and regularly DJ at the Jumpin' Hot Club, Sin-a-go-go, Vamos and on our own club nights at the Cumberland. We're eclectic but create a mix of uptempo, upbeat, positive sounds. The music is loud enough to dance to, but not so loud that you can't make yourself heard. In short, the FUNKY BUTT is the club night you always wished was out there, a place where you can sit and enjoy a drink and a chat with a background of great vintage sounds of impeccable taste, or shake your funky butt without being hassled by cruisers, bruisers or losers.
